Looks like the U.S. intel community didnt trust Devin Nunes with classified Trump-Russia evidence

Earlier today Palmer Report brought you word of how Representative Eric Swalwell from the House Intelligence Committee is suddenly speaking of how damning the classified evidence is in the Trump-Russia scandal (link). We pointed out how its notable that Swalwell isnt even a ranking member on the committee, and thus theres even more deeply classified evidence that he hasnt seen yet. But guess who would have seen that evidence?
On the House Intel Committee, the U.S. intelligence community committee would have customarily shown the most sensitive Trump-Russia evidence only to the chair and ranking member. That is of course Devin Nunes and Adam Schiff, respectively. Or at least it was, before Nunes tried so hard to tamper in the investigation that he was forced to step away from it while he sorts through ethics charges. And while that took place awhile ago, Congress is just now back in session, and the committee investigations are getting back into swing.
And suddenly, with Devin Nunes gone from the picture, other committee members like Eric Swalwell are talking about how much damning classified Trump-Russia evidence theyre seeing. Where was this evidence before? It sure looks like the intel community was playing keep-away from Devin Nunes because it didnt trust him, and the only way to do so was to hold that evidence back from everyone on that committee. And while thats just a working theory at this point, theres plenty of circumstantial evidence to support it.
Even before Devin Nunes went on his weird crusade to improperly expose supposed classified evidence of an incidental wiretap of the Trump transition team, there were other signs that Nunes may have been playing for Team Trump or even Team Russia. For instance Nunes was entangled in Michael Flynns foreign agent efforts (link). Nunes also has an odd relationship with an airbase in Portugal that may be tied to Russia (link). Did the intel community know about these things? Were they keeping classified evidence from Nunes because of it? Is this why that classified evidence now seems to be flowing freely to his committee in his absence? Watch this one closely. Help fund Palmer Report

Jason Chaffetz limps back to Congress, invents two phony Obama scandals to distract from Trump-Russia

Remember when Jason Chaffetz announced amid growing rumors of scandal that he wont be seeking reelection, and then he announced that he was taking a leave from Congress for around a month to have immediate foot surgery on a twelve year old injury? That weeks long suspicious saga has grown even stranger. Just a few days after having that surgery, Chaffetz is now quickly limping back to Congress for reasons that look even more suspicious than ever.
To be fair to Chaffetz, it did seem that he was legitimately desperate to get back to Congress in time to help his Republican Party pass the widely despised AHCA health care bill, because thats the kind of screw-the-public, benefit-the-wealthy legislation that Chaffetz has built his career on. But why is he now remaining in Congress while hes in such bad condition that hes riding around the halls on some kind of one-legged scooter just to keep pressure off his foot? Here are the two big initiatives that Chaffetz is pursuing.
One is a cartoonish attempt at revoking President Barack Obamas pension, because he dared to give a perfectly legal paid speech (Politico), which doesnt even make sense because he could just do a few more speeches to easily replace any lost pension money. The other sees Chaffetz using his position as chair of the House Oversight Committee to investigate President Obamas Iran deal (Vanity Fair). Even by usual Chaffetz standards, these are some of the lamest phony scandals that hes ever invented. So what gives?
Jason Chaffetz gains no real partisan advantage by inventing these phony scandals about Obama, who will never run for of office again. Moreover theres no reason for Chaffetz to try to gain partisan advantage, because he himself isnt running for anything in 2018. The most logical conclusion is that Chaffetz is dredging up these silly investigations as an attempt at distraction from the Trump Russia scandal and perhaps distracting from the growing buzz about his own supposed scandals, which weve been documenting docuementing herehere and here these past weeks. Help fund Palmer Report

Michael Flynn was trying to get classified intel on Russia from the Obama team during transition

With each passing day, Michael Flynn becomes more of a problem for Donald Trump and his administration. And today, Flynn seems to be more of a problem for Trump by the hour. The problem isn’t that Trump hired a guy who was on the take from Russia and then fired him. The problem is that the evidence keeps pointing to Trump hiring people like Flynn because they were dirty and then giving them free rein. Tonight’s latest revelation about Flynn points to just how brazen things have been.
During the transition team, Michael Flynn’s underling asked the President Obama administration for the classified CIA profile of Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak, according to the Associated Press (link). This raises too many questions to track. Was Flynn seeking to give the classified intel about Kislyak to him, as a favor to Russia? Was Flynn trying to gain an advantage over Kislyak, in line with the theory that Russia had control over a compromised Flynn by that time? But either way, it points to Trump’s real problem here.
Donald Trump has been running a campaign, a transition team, and an administration in which his staff members have been so confident in their inappropriate interactions with Russia that they never even felt they’ve had to hide any of what they were doing. Flynn and his underling honestly thought there would be no problem with asking the Obama administration for classified intel on Russia? Yet this was clearly the groundwork that Trump laid for how his advisers believed they could proceed with such things.
And that leaves only three possibilities when it comes to Donald Trump: either he’s so mentally vacant that he doesn’t know what hijinks his advisers are up to, or he’s so ambivalent to corruption that he doesn’t care what they’re up to, or he’s so complicit in the Russia scandal that they were doing these things because he wanted it that way. Any of the three is impeachable. Help fund Palmer Report

Donald Trumps staffers were caught photocopying classified documents and taking them

As controversy and scandal and reports of outright criminal behavior continue to swirl out of control, Donald Trump and his White House seem to be settling on a consistent theme. Whenever any adviser or staffer gets caught up in these things, the official position is that the person was acting alone. But word comes today of an incident which would seem to shatter that entire premise.
Even back during the transition period, members of Donald Trump’s transition team were caught creating photocopies of classified documents and making off with them, according to the Associated Press (link). The Obama administration caught them doing this, and apparently unsure of what steps to take in the midst of such an unprecedented breach of ethics by the Trump team, ultimately settled on forcing Trump’s people to come to the White House to view any subsequent classified documents so they could be watched over. And here’s the kicker.
This wasn’t the handiwork of Michael Flynn, whom the Trump White House is now blaming for everything. This wasn’t being carried out by any of the former Trump advisers who are now believed to be under FBI investigation for the Russia scandal. This wasn’t isolated behavior by any particular designated bogey man. This was just Donald Trump’s transition team running amok with classified documents, because that’s how they thought it was okay to behave.
The only way Trump’s transition team could have thought it was okay to act in such a manner was if they’d gotten the signal from Donald Trump himself that it was all perfectly fine. It’s not even clear from the AP story if these documents were being photocopied so they could be stolen and sold, or if the Trump staffers just thought it was okay to photocopy classified documents and take them home for further reading. This is what Trump’s administration is built on and it can’t be scapegoated on any particular disgraced former team members. Help fund Palmer Report

Translate this: Vladimir Putin and his puppet are lying about Chechnyas gay concentration camps

This is the latest news from a Russian newspaper called SIGHT which was titled Kadyrov declared his readiness to cooperate with federal authorities on the topic of gay rights in Chechnya. I used Google Translate to read this article in English. I did not correct the grammatical errors that the translation tool made in the interpretation. I also added my own personal translation as far as what was really being said.
The caption under the above picture stated (Google Translation) Authorities and law enforcement agencies in Chechnya are ready to work with federal agencies to check media reports about alleged violations of the rights of people with unconventional sexual orientation in the republic, and no statements have been received so far, Chechnyas head Ramzan Kadyrov said. (link)
My Translation: Kadyrov still denies there have been any complaints by gay men in Chechnya but he is willing to work with federal agencies so he and Putin can say they have investigated while possibly taking a vacation hunting brown bear in Alaska with Sarah Palin.
Google Translation: The head of Chechnya noted that in his region there is no very phenomenon called non-traditional orientation: the people have lived for thousands of years by other rules, which are prescribed by the Most High, are dictated by morals and ethics of relations between people. We have never had them among the Chechens. Unless we are talking about those who, not being a Chechen, call themselves so that they can get to the West, he said. According to Kadyrov, local authorities called for reports of harassment or violence, if any, but so far no statements have been received in this regard. (link).
My Translation: Homosexuals have never existed in the history of Chechnya. The only people in Chechnya that say they are homosexuals are from another country and are looking for sanctuary or asylum in the west. Again, Kadyrov is denying that any LGBTQ people are born or have ever lived in Chechnya. Kadyrov also said that local police had asked gay people to come forward if they had been attacked and nobody had come forward. Of course not one person came forward because they know they would have been shipped off to one of Kadyrovs concentration camps. All LGBTQ Chechens know this would be a death sentence.
Google Translation: At the same time the head of the republic rejected the assumption that people are afraid to apply to law enforcement bodies. This is not true. Nobody intimidated anyone, Kadyrov noted. The head of Chechnya noted that some influential forces of world scale need to inflate this topic for a long time. At the same time, Kadyrov pointed out, bloody conflicts, wars, epidemics, mass deaths from famine in Africa, violence against children are ignored. Kadyrov announced his intention to work closely with the Ombudsman Tatyana Moskalkova and Russian law enforcers. He assured that the authorities of Chechnya are interested in having the truth about the situation in the region heard. The law prevails in Chechnya. Anyone who violates it will be called to account. There should be no doubt about this, Kadyrov said. (link)
My Translation: Basically Kadyrov states that homosexuals are not afraid of the police, police that they would report abuse, abuse knowing they would be taken directly to concentration camps! Nobody had to threaten anyone as all LGBTQ know the threat is implied by breathing. Seriously, I know I would never turn myself in to be tortured with electroshock, beaten with rubber tubes and starved. He also tries to divert the conversation by saying there are many problems in the world like war, epidemics, famine in Africa etc that are real issues while human rights and world leaders are calling out for an investigation into Chechnya wasting President Kadyrovs time. He must have learned this from all of Trumps diversion tactics from the beginning of his campaign until today.
Google Translation: Kadyrov said it was necessary to convey to Western politicians, including German Chancellor Angela Merkel, the idea that their statements about the oppression of gays in Chechnya are groundless and are connected with the fact that these politicians do not have objective information. We get the impression that a number of politicians in the West initially do not allow for the existence of a different opinion and other conclusions on this issue, Kadyrov stressed. At the same time, if the West demands in an ultimatum form that Chechnya accept their rules, if men marry men, women marry women, adopt children, teach them the same, this is unacceptable for our people, Kadyrov stressed. He noted that in the West they used to say what is in their interest, and not what is really there.
Earlier Friday, Russian President Vladimir Putin promised the ombudsman Tatiana Moskalkova that he would ask the Prosecutor General and the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs to assist in checking the situation in the North Caucasus Federal District with people of non-traditional orientation.
Lets remind, Novaya Gazeta reported about the allegedly carried out by the authorities of Chechnya, the persecution of local representatives of sex minorities. Head of the region Ramzan Kadyrov categorically rejected such accusations. (link)
My Translation: In this final section President Kadyrov of Chechnya says that all world leaders, especially Chancellor Angela Merkel, are lying in calling out Chechnya. He says this even though we have video evidence and interviews from the victims who have managed to escape Chechnya. He also states that the countries trying to intervene are trying to force Western views/human rights on to the Chechen people saying whats good for Germany, America, England is good for the people of Chechnya. Kadyrov states Merkel is not being objective. All I can say is what a hypocrite. Kadyrov like Putin and Trump is a Psychopath/Sociopath Narcissist.
The only view that he believes to be true and valid is his own. Kadyrov is telling the rest of the world Let Chechnya live by their laws and mind your own business. His repeated terms of people of non-traditional orientation and unconventional sexual orientation are perfect examples that the only thing acceptable to Kadyrov are heterosexual men and women. He makes it very clear that it is unacceptable to have lesbians or gay men in their culture and that they absolutely would never be allowed to adopt a child much less raise them and teach them to be homosexuals, which, by the way, is not taught.
My verdict: Of course we all know this is ludicrous. I truly believe in the end Putin will say this horrific situation has been investigated fully by Russian and Chechen authorities and this is all just a plot cooked up by democratic countries as an attack on Chechnya. All we can do is continue to call on the United Nations and pressure Kadyrov for an independent investigation into gay men being tortured and killed in Chechen concentration camps. Only time will tell.

Donald Trump ally claims National Security Adviser H.R. McMaster isnt allowed into meetings

The conventional wisdom of late is that Secretary of Defense James Mattis and new National Security Adviser H.R. McMaster are now essentially running the military and defense aspects of the Donald Trump administration, while Trump himself plays golf. But that’s either changed, or one of the Trump’s key alt-right allies is trying to make it change, based on his new claim.
Mike Cernovich is not a reliable source of information. In fact, as the conspiracy theorist who helped popularize the phony “pizzagate” scandal that nearly got innocent people killed, his word is precisely the opposite of reliable. But he does seem to have the ear of Donald Trump, or at least of some of the alt-right extremists in the Trump administration. So that makes it notable that this evening Cernovich insisted that “McMaster has been kept out of several White House meetings at the President’s request” (link). Again, he can’t be taken at his word based on track record. But this does tell us something.
There are two distinct possibilities here. One is that the balance of power in Trump’s White House has shifted yet again, and for whatever reason, traditional military man H.R. McMaster is now on the outs just two months after he replaced the controversial Michael Flynn. The other is that the extremist flank of the Trump administration has grown tired of people like Mattis and McMaster being influential on military matters, and this is disinformation that’s been given to Cernovich in the hope of creating trouble between Trump and McMaster where there is none.
It’s notable that this development is coming just a few days after word surfaced that Steve Bannon, essentially the leader of the alt-right extremists in Trump’s White House, is on his way out entirely (link). Is the Bannon flank now trying to pick off McMaster in retaliation? One way or the other, the claim about McMaster is the latest sign of ongoing dissension within Trump’s unstable White House. Help fund Palmer Report
