LONDON (Reuters) - Britain's national security was damaged by the Guardian newspaper's publication of intelligence documents supplied by U.S. whistleblower Edward Snowden, Prime Minister David Cameron said on Wednesday.
"The plain fact is that what has happened has damaged national security," Cameron told parliament. "In many ways, the Guardian themselves admitted that when they agreed, when asked politely by my national security advisor and cabinet secretary, to destroy the files they had."

David Cameron says the US National Security Agency files, leaked by whistleblower Edward Snowden to the Guardian, have damaged national security

Mike Nova comments: I put this video with this title on because it was the first one that I found on this subject. Of course I do not agree at all with the title about "lying"; just opposite: I think that Mr. Cameron made his point clearly and forcefully. More than that, in my mind there no doubts, as I expressed it in my previous posts, that the whole situation around Snowden was designed, planned and executed by the Russian Military Intelligence Service, the GRU, exactly with the purpose to damage the national security of the US and the UK, to undermine their relationships with their allies and for propaganda purposes, and I think that the previous and the subsequent events only confirm this. I also think that these people: Snowden, Greenwald, Poitras and some others around them are sick, irresponsible and narcissistic persons, that they are first of all and most of all after making money and names for themselves, and more than that, that their actions are criminal and that they and their actions should be investigated in depth and prosecuted.
