"Cruz stated: "It is a story that quoted one source on the record, Roger Stone, Donald Trump's chief political adviser. And I would note that Mr. Stone is man who has 50 years of dirty tricks behind him. He's a man for whom a term was coined for copulating with a rodent."[65][66] In April 2016, Cruz again criticized Stone, saying on Sean Hannity's radio show of Stone: "He is pulling the strings on Donald Trump. He planned the Trump campaign, and he is Trump's henchman and dirty trickster. And this pattern, Donald keeps associating himself with people who encourage violence."[67] Stone responded by comparing Cruz to Richard Nixon and accusing him of being a liar.[68]...
Examples of Stone's Rules include
"Politics with me isn't theater. It's performance art. Sometimes, for its own sake."
"Stone takes offense at Cruz calling him a Nixon-style “rat fucker.”
“Technically, I wouldn't be a rat fucker. You see, rat fucker is sending 10 pizzas to the Democratic headquarters. That's stupid. That's puerile. That's not winning any votes. That's rat fucking,” Stone said. “And any serious political operative wouldn't waste their time with stuff like that.”

M.N.: My current impression is that the "Trump team", the group of political operatives who helped to bring Trump to power, is the collection of sickies (what in psychiatry is called "mixed personality disorder", predominantly with narcissistic traits, and Roger Stone is one of the best examples).
They are marked by:
- shadiness, including the lack of moral values
- emotional and intellectual superficiality
- egocentrism - self-centeredness: they are career and success, money oriented, at the expense of devotion to the public service
- possibly, and some might be marked by "polymorphous perverse sexuality"
- Etc., etc., of the same realm.
Regardless of the process and the future outcome of this investigation, the role of the National Security team around Mr. Trump includes the efforts to isolate and to protect him from this shadiness. Many of the "useful idiots" are probably already out, the question is, who remains, and what they do.
Does it not speak to the FBI's deficiency to fully notice and to appreciate the potential for the adverse developments in this situation? I do not think that J.E. Hoover if he were alive, would let it slip by his attention.
It is very possible, that at this stage of this "operation", their invisible managers would like to get rid of them: "концы в воду...", that is why in Stone's case his claims of poisoning and auto-accident do have some credibility. They have to be preserved as witnesses, as the sources of information in this investigation.
