Adjusted revenue, minus traffic acquisition costs, was $11.01 billion, compared with $8.14 billion in the same quarter the previous year. Adjusted profit was $11.58 a share. Analysts polled by FactSet on average were expecting the Mountain View, Calif.-based company to report a profit of $10.65 a share, on revenue of $11.12 billion.

Bank of America Corp. was down 2.22%, making it the second biggest loser in the Dow Jones Industrial Average . Royal Bank of Scotland Group PLC was down 3.28%, Barclays PLC was down 2.64% and Credit Suisse was down 2%. Goldman Sachs Group Inc. and Citigroup Inc. were down 1.42% at close.
